Response to Making ready for the cruise

Wow am I envious of you, being able to take the time to do that aboard such a WONDERFUL ship, in such WONDERFUL water too.

A few years ago we flew to the top of Michigan, drove down to Hessel, checked out all the marinas from Hessel eastward, and spent some time on Drummond Island. Here are some of the photos of the area from the air, hope this gets you pumped for the trip. Watch those charts! Your SF draws more water than a 38!!

Yes, all the boats in the photos are Chris Craft Commanders.

Here's a photo of the marine facilities at Drummond Island.

Hope these photos help get you even more pumped for the journey. They are compliments of my good friend, Curt Radford.

I can most certainly recommend the lambchops at the premier waterfront reastaurant at the old Corporate Dominos Pizza Headquarters on Drummond Island. It was really the only 4-star commercial game in town, so to speak. They have a fantastic restaurant there, great bar, many out-buildings, and hotel accommodations too. We thought the restaurant was outstanding at the time. When you are resigned to eat hot dogs, BBQ or Pizza for dinner, and discover a restaurant like that, who serves lambchops, has a great wine selection (which we SERIOUSLY tapped into), a great bar, and allows campfires on their beachfront, you've hit a home run. I don't know if it was 4-star or not, but at the time I certainly thought so, perhaps; 4.5??

Have a great trip, safe and reliable running, and an enjoyable return to port. Take lots of photos!

Regards, Paul
