Boat moving

Response to Looking for info on 1984 32 foot Commander

You asked about boat moving. Somewhere recently I found a boat mover's web site, and I was quite impressed with what I read there about their methods, and their recommendations. I don't remember the name of the company, but if you do a google on "boat movers" you will find many. Here is one (no specific recommendation -- just one that I found via google that looks OK from their site info): http://www.boathaul.com/

If the boat you are considering has a flybridge, the top of the flybridge may have to be removed for shipping. The boat hauler should be able to arrange for that removal, and reinstallation at your destination. They would probably just take off what they need to in order to get the height of the boat on the trailer down to 14' or less (or there-abouts). For rough figuring, you are probably looking at $5,000 to $10,000 for a coast to coast haul, depending on permits needed, work they need to do to the boat at both ends, etc. Your best bet is to get on the phone with some haulers and talk to them.

Good luck, and keep us posted on what you decide on.
