Response to TF boats

Hi Bill,

Your 45TF most be a beautiful boat. I wanted a bigger boat with diesels but my 36' will meet my needs. Thank you for your words of incouragement. As you know this is not an investment, its more like a love affair. I like the older Tournaments, and will probably spend a small fortune to bring her back, but I plan to keep her for many years. I just picked up my gas tanks today, aluminimum 3/16" with return lines, yes maybe someday I'll put diesels in the boat. For now the rebuilt 427's will serve my purposes. It was funny but the shop that rebuilt my 427's said there is a good market for these high performance engines in the Cobra Club, and others car clubs. I don't know if he was pulling my leg but he said they would command a price of $15,000, don't know if that is for the pair or just one engine. Anyways the 427's are rare now-a-days. Your 45TF must be a great boat, especially with 8V71TI's. I plan to send you guys pictures of the boat, and restoration project in the near future. I'll post my bills with some tears, and pictures soon. FYI, my gas tanks were made with 5052 aluminimum, 3/16" thick with senders, return coupling, (future diesels, maybe), and a generator pickup both tanks were powder-coated for a total of $2,929.50, including NY tax, and disposal of the old tanks. The tanks were made by RAM WELDING located in Farmingdale, NY. I solicited other quotes from Atlantic Costal, and a local welder but decided to go with RAM. I like the idea of powder-coated tanks vs. epoxy coating because of adherance problems that are common with epoxy.

Enjoy that 45TF.
