Response to I wonder how accurate the numbers really are?
The Essential Guide weights and the advertised weights are way off. My boat (45TF) lists at 38,700 lbs., but actually weighed just over 50,000 lbs. when I got it, with spare shafts, props, and a lot of other junk aboard. After removing all the spares and a lot of equipment it last weighed just under 45,000 lbs. Weights come from the Travel Lift gauges - weight from the forward hoist + weight from the aft hoist = total. The next time you're hauled, ask the operator.
