I'm building my second 351 Cleveland, first drag-race intended motor. My first motor, has given me many miles of no trouble miles, spinning it to 5800 RPM. Lunati Solid, 290 adv; .515 lift, 228 @ .050. No oil mods, 2V heads. This current motor; I'm hoping to spin to 7000, cc'd 4V heads, pop-up pistons, and an un-decided cam yet. Something around 240@.050, and .570 lift (still looking for cam, taking advice as well). I bought this oil modification kit that routes oil from the rear of the block to the front. It basically takes oil from oil sender and routes it to the area around fuel pump, all done externally. Is this going to work? Is it necessary on a 7000 RPM motor? If so, any recomendations, or is this an ok way to do it (external kit). Any thoughts on the moroso style restrictor kits? thanks! I'm no Cleveland expert, just trying to learn, took a ride in a fast Cleveland 18 years ago that I still want to duplicate!!
