I picked D/Stock precisely because of the Coultier's Cyclone. I love that car. I have talked to Mel and his son a couple times at the Div 7 meets. Matter of fact, I decoded his door tag from memory one time and he was somewhat flabbergasted about the info on it. Even though he bought it new, he had no idea about any codes there.
I have a '68 Torino GT, two '69 Fairlane Cobras, a '69 Cyclone CJ, a '69 CJ XR-7, three '69 Rancheros, and two '69 Mustang coupes. I'll spare you the inventory on the other years. However, the car I thought would really stir the pot is a recently purchased '69 Montego MX formal roof. The CJ, according to my literature, was available in that car (or, I could run it as a '68 Cyclone). I have enough major parts to build ten 428's, not counting the ones already in the numbers cars.
I have the parts to convert the MX to a stick, but I don't have a Jerico. Calvert brought me a monoleaf and bar setup at a Div 7 meet, so I'm OK there. No trick diffs yet.
Could you picture that car lined up next to Curtis? Ah, the Mercury freaks would go wild. Tow vehicle? My '67 Mercury Commuter.
OK, I'm done dreaming now. Thanks for hanging on to this thread. |
