Pull your PIP and check the timing. Does the timing fluctuate? If so, the chain needs to be replaced. I had a similiar problem, and a new timing set kept the timing from retarding upon acceleration. Set the mechanical at 10BTDC, and see if it helps. If it pings, then back it down to 8BTDC, and re-try. Joe-JDC.
