i have a 85 mustang gt. it has 150000 miles on it. i was looking at this zmax crap and i thought that i would give it a try, it does have a lot of miles on it.anyway when i put zmax in my car it did boost my mpg a little for a shot pd., then it hit the fan. it ended up costing a little over $600. my advise is just dont use it. if your engine is not working right then take it to someone that you trust. dont put in a $40 product and think that eveything will be ok

So your 150K mileage Mustang "hit the fan"? What does that mean? What actually occurred? And can anyone tie it to the ZMax? Just wondering, as I'm sure many others are...

First of all, there have been quite a few GM recalls, in fact there are nearly no GM models that haven't been recalled for atleast something. Unlike ford or daimler chrysler although - GM does their best not to publicize their recalls. I find that a bit unconscionable. Furthermore, GM has the most Mexican and Canadian production facilities of any US automaker. All American?

My 1981 Oldsmobile 98 307c.i.d has never been on any recall list that i have seen. But i have seen the 1981 Oldsmobile 98 350 diesel on recall for many problems.

Yeah, I've owned several GMs that didn't have any recalls. 68 GTO, 71 Chevy p.u., 79 blazer, 87 Jimmy, 2002 Silverado. I did own a 99 Silverado that had 2 so called minor recalls. Taking it in for a day to the shop was not minor to my schedule, though. I also owned an 84 Cougar (Mercury), and that will be my last Ford product. The only vehicle I've bought new that I wouldn't sell to a friend. I wouldn't try to argue with C.D. Fischer. By reading his posts I figure he's owned at least 1 of every model ever made. And the kicker is I don't believe he has ever tried zMAX (this is what this forum's about, no?) or intends to. Forums like this bring the experts out of the woodwork by the dozens.
