If you use an online e-mail reader, it may be possible to undelete some of your recently deleted e-mails. For example, on my server, there are 2 or 3 choices to read mail directly on the server. These store deleted mail in a folder, which can be read for at least several hours or even days before they are wiped clean.
If you use Outlook Express or any other local mail reader (meaning the mail is downloaded to your computer before you read it), you're out of luck once you enpty your deleted items folder. Deleting those just deletes them. They do not go into any recycle bin or any other placeholder, they are just wiped out.
