Once again I am having problems posting to a Network 54 forum. One minute I had no trouble, the next minute I cannot post anything. Preview works fine, but when I click on the "Post" button, nothing happens; the preview remains on the screen but nothing gets posted to the forum.

The forum in question is Hyperscale (http://www.clubhyper.com/forums/forum.htm).

I'm using Safari 3.0.4 on a Mac running OS 10.4.11.

This one Network 54 forum seems to be the only such forum I have this problem with.

Go to that page, then open the forum frame in a new window, without the other site involved. See if you can post now... If you can, it's their frames page that is causing the problem.

Preview appears normally, but clicking on "Post" button has no effect. Refreshing forum page has no effect either.

Empty field (M)

Is it possible that when the post doesn't go through that you have left the "Message Text" box empty? They supposedly changed it (a couple of years ago perhaps?) so that you could leave this box blank, but I still can not. I experience exactly what you just described. I've seen some of my users post messages with this field empty, but I have never been able to.

Help! Can't find where to post.

I'm totally lost, I guess. I created an account. I added a link to the forum page (I thought) from my website, but no area to 'write' to the forum comes up. Plus, I've looked all over and can not find anyplace or anyway to post, except by responding to someone else's original message. A little help, please.

http://www.network54.com/My_Account/Forums/Edit/Options?forumid=######

Go to that page, replace ###### with your forum's ID (or just go through the login page, go to the forum, then to "Options")

Scroll down until you see "Button Labels". The first one needs to have something in the text box or no posting link will show up.

Ripper, I tried going to the link you previously gave me in reply to my first "Help" message, it said "Security violation. That resource does not belong to you. This access has been noted and sent to our security team."
The address was: http://www.network54.com/My_Account/Forums/Edit/Options?forumid
In your message you gave me that same address with 6 pound signs (######) after the word 'forumid'.
You said, "replace ###### with your forum's ID". I tried typing in the equal sign and my login name. It, again, went to the 'Security violation' page.
Is the problem that I don't really know what to put in place of those pound (#) signs. Or, am I just totally lost? I've never found any place that says "Button Labels" either. Terribly sorry to be such an ignoramus, but would you try to help me through this again. Regards, Mary Ann

Once you get a forum set up as Nick suggested ...

then you can access the page Ripper is trying to tell you to go to. It sets the options for a forum.

But I did notice you replied that you put your login name after the "=", he said to put in your forum ID. Which you'll get after you set one up.

Hope that makes sense.

Try this.....

Copy and paste this into the address bar in your browser, don't go there....

http://www.network54.com/My_Account/Forums/Edit?forumid=188001

Replace the 188001 with your forum id, BEFORE hitting return or Go in your browser. If you are logged in, it will take you to the page to edit your forum. Click on "Options", then follow the rest.

Mary Ann,

You created a group, not a forum, which is the issue here. You need to create a forum. You may then link your group to it via access control permissions.

The best place for you to start would be with these tutorials:
