Could have been either the firstones or the goodyears. I think in the case or raised white letters, when specified as that on the Marti, they were goodyear. If they were just F70 then it could have been either. I prefer the goodyear tires, I think the quality is a little higher on them, and I know they are, or were made in the USA last time I bought a set. I buy from Lucas Antique Tires, they are a fortune compared to modern radials, so you really have to want that look for your car. I run G70 goodyear raised white letters on mine, just what I like. I have another set on a second set of rims that are radials, they are 235/60 series. Anything less than that looks smallish on the car, like a six banger type of car look. If you are looking for a little more meat in the back, like I have for my drag tires, then run a set of 255/60 series. That is about as much tire you can get with out modification to the back spacing of the rims, or body of the car. It is my understanding that you can go wider with the tires, and a little taller if the back spacing is changed on the rim. I think you then can go to 275/60 series. Good luck with your choice. I like to run a set of 8.5" M/T slicks also, those are about 255 series tires give or take just a little, and hold the ground a lot better than radials or bias ply's. |
