Disappointed in Earl!!!!

by Mustang Lover

Earl.........I think you should cut "YOUR HEAD" off.
Do NOT....I repeat....DO NOT cut the top off that car. Sell it to someone who would appreciate it.
Obviously you do not deserve to have that car. I wholly agree with Rex and Bill. If money is not an issue then you are even more of a moron.
Buy yerself a nice convertible and give the rest of your money to "Habitats For Humanity".
They would make better use of your money than you!!!

Cut the top off a classic car.....!!!
DOOUUGGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've got to be kidding!!!!!

I can't believe I read the whole thing.

Buck Tag on my Sprint

by

Yeah Buddy....

I found it behind the drivers side headlight standing in front of the car looking at the engine bay. Yep..just one little screw hold'n it on.

It reads as follows;

Vin# 171562 11B
65D EC BTRAC
BO SP

Well I got all the #'s on the car now.
What does it all mean??@#$%^&*

I'll be hearing from the CAC in a few weeks with the build sheet of my 1972 Mustang Sprint.

I can hardly contain myself.

Who else out there has knowledge they would like to share with me 'bout these codes. I'd enjoy chat'n.

So......Happy Holidays to all and yours.

Be Safe.

Dave

I called the CAC at Ford.

by Dave Howe

Yep....I called 'em up and in 4-8wks I'm gonna find out what my Sprint was like when it was new.
Freakin Kewl!!!!!

I love this stuff!!!!!!!!! My wife...bless her heart...has fun with all of it too.

I new all about my Tigers. I joined all the clubs and did all the research on all 3 of them. Man the vision of those people. Outstanding!!!
And the Mustang...whoa!!! I always loved them too. Now I have a Mustang, a 1972 Mustang Sprint at that.

I'm thrilled to be finding out about this awesome car. I will be joining clubs soon. After the holidays though. Catch a few meets. Do some research. Meet some new friends. Most of all....restore my beautiful classic Pony. Almost as good as SEX! NOT!!

Thnx all. Be Safe.

Happy Holidays,
Dave

Sprint A package wheels

by

Hello,

Thanks to everyone on this wonderful website. Great information here! I have a friend who has a sprint A car he thinks.

My question centers around the trim rings/center caps on the car. Were the factory wheels 14 X 7 or 14 X 6? I have a very nice driver set of the 14 X 6 rings I've had since I sold a 73 mach 1 6 months ago.

Also the centers which say "FORD MOTOR COMPANY" I know the paint stripe is blue instead of the standard black. How hard is it to find the centers NOS?

Thanks
Stephanie Sandlin

Drivers side door sticker

by Dave Howe

Yeah Buddy....Its there and is in perfect condition. The sticker I mean.

It reads as follows;

VIN# 2F01H171562
Date; 3/72
Body; 65D
Color; 9A
Trim; HB
Trans; X
Axle; 2
DBO; 71

So......I do,in fact, have a Sprint. I was so afraid that the car was not a Sprint but rather a regular Mustang painted like a Sprint.

KEWL!!!!!!!!!!!!

L8R my friends.

Dave

The VIN# of my Sprint...Finally.

by

Hi everyone....heres the VIN# of my Sprint.
VIN# 2F01H171562.

I am happy to know its 1 of 1486. I was hope'n it was
1 of 90. But its not.

I have no idea what package it is nor any of the options that originally came on this car. Would Love to know though. Very important in the restoration.

However....by the VIN# I see the 351 was a 2V and that has all changed. It now has a Carter AFB and an Edelbrock Hi-Rise Intake Manifold. It has freakin air shocks on the rear now. Bummer man!!! Theres a trailer hitch at the license plate so I guess the previous owner was towing their boat or something.

The complete power train was re-built at 88,000. The carb was a holley and a stock 4brl manifold. So the previous owner switched the 2brl to the Holley 4brl.
When I had the re-build done I added the Carter and the Hi-Rise Manifold and a mild race cam. Carters RULE!!!!!!!! The car runs real strong.

The FMX has a Borg-Warner Shift Kit and the Diff. has 3:52 gears.

I am sorry to say I have not started the car since '93.
Other priorities....

So.........LETS ROLL!!!! Boy am I excited to do this!!

I look forward meeting all of you I can. I'll do photos of the project as well. Just hope I find the money to do it.
My wife says......KEWL!!!!! Lets do it!!!
Shes Awesome!!

Thnx very much.
Dave

turn key fastback Mustang sprint wanted

by

I have fallen in love with the fastback Mustang sprint. I do not want to restore, but car does not have to be totally mint. I live in CT, so the closer, the better. I never realized that this option package existed until a week ago. It is extra special to me, because I graduated from HS in 1972! Thank you, Frank Fleming cttolv@aol.com

I might be able to help..

by

Post some of the codes that you have questions about. You don't have to post the VIN if you don't want to. I decoded most of mine quite a while ago and might be able to help.

Here are some.. I'll check for more..

by

63D -> This is the body style code. Sportsroof, bucket seats
246 304 -> These are probably sequencing numbers used by the factory.
9A -> This is the paint code. White.
HB -> This is the trim code. HB = Sprint interior.
BTRAC -> The general consensus on this is that it means "BoTh RACing" mirrors, which a Sprint would have.
SP -> Maybe stereo AM/FM/8-track (although it seems like it could mean "SPrint")?
BO -> Perhaps "Battery Option" if it got the upgraded 24F battery.

You can check out the website at http://privat.schlund.de/f/fmcog/to_alt/bbtd.htm for more information.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
