Looking to purchase a 72 sprint coupe - no rust!
by
Located in Florida - use my email address. Thanks!
Found a 1972 mustang conv. on e-bay #2466374550 looks and sounds like a sprint ,doesn't have the right grille though , not much info in ad Thanks Shane
It can't be a true convertible Sprint, as they only had 302 V8's rather than the 351 stated in the ad. Also, the last six of the VIN don't match what a true Sprint conv. would be, although it looks to be a nice clone with the correct interior (if I am seeing the very tiny and hard to see pics in the ad correctly).
Yes back in the 80's a friend bought and sold mustangs. He had a convert. with 351CJ (detuned Boss) and 4 speed. He worked for IBM in San Jose and got transfered to upstate N.Y. took the convert. and 428 Mach 1 with mime sold both cars.
Anyone know where I can get spray paint for the white. As you all know the color is NOT Wimbeldon white. I cannot find any Mustang vendors that sell exterior paint for code 9A.
ok people..I am in serious need of some help. I am currently restoring a 72 sprint. I was wondering if anyone out there knows where I can obtain a complete wire harness(front to back). Any thoughts or ideas please email them to me, please.
thank you
I have a 1972 Olympic Sprint (Its not the convertible or the fastback, its the notched back). I bought the car for $500. It does need work. The paint needs to be redone, the trunk lid probably needs to be replaced. I bought it from a friend who also bored the engine 30 over so new pistons or rings may be needed. He drove the car home about 8 months ago and says that the transmission is in fine shape. There is some rust on the car (He found it sitting in a field) but most of it is on the surface so I dont believe any of the body work needs to be replaced. The seats are in bad shape (Again the car was in a field) but the door panels look to be o.k. as does the dash. Im not really sure what the car is worth right now or what it would be worth fully restored. It still holds the factory engine and transmission and I think we've got some paper work on the vehicle. If anyone is interested in the car or could tell me what the car is worth I would appreciate some feedback. Im still not sure that I want to sell the car. It depends on the offer and value of the car, and on what you intend to do with the vehicle. This is a rare find and Im just looking for some honest help and advice.
I forgot to mention that it is the 351 with an automatic transmission. If anyone has a manual and would like to trade, whatever the terms are, I would be interested.
I am possibly thinking of selling my Sprint. It is nice and was on the road last summer. Trying to find out the value in order to post a price.Feel free to contact me with questions. Will only sell to good home. Was my first car, this is painful, but it needs to have someone who has time to drive it.
It's hidden on Ebay: item number 2459783377
I say hidden because it's been painted red, but the body looks OK, I'd say it's an "A" package. I would buy it if it wasn't so far away. I'm in Nevada, car is in North Carolina.
Description is:
1972 Mustang Fastback
No title
302 2barrel carb
Vehicle codes
body: 63D
color: 9A
trim: HB
transmission: X
axle: 3
dso: 25
I'm kind of a novice at this, but I noticed the car doesn't have a title. Is there a way to legally get a title or would I just be asking for trouble buying and sinking money into a car with no title.
Hi, Ive just noticed that you maybe looking for a 72 sprint mustang. I have one this is for sale. If needs it's interior put back together. Engine and trans works great and all factory 90k original miles. Let me know if intrested. Thanks
i have a nice 72 sprint fastback origal int 351c 2v auto ps ac bpackage 15 inch magnams car sat in storage from 92 til may 03 had to put hoses belts plugs wires ect older restoration still looks nice needs some work got to many other things going on need to sell it
I bought this car to finish restoring, but then found another one that was complete. Now I have two, and I don't have garage space for both. 107k miles on frame, 35k on a rebuilt engine -- 351C, Power Steering, Manual Brakes, FMX Transmission, and Factory Air (no belt at this time, but it's not frozen). My mechanic says it is a good car. Practically rust free, but the paint is not accurate, and there are a few door dings & paint chips. Interior is practically done. It needs a new headliner and it has a CD player rather than the radio. This car is really fun to drive and runs great. E-mail if you are interested, and I will e-mail back pictures. dorothy.shipman@emporia.ws
