Sprint Convertible and Coupe for Sale
by
I know of a sprint conv and a sprint coupe for sale in the Norfolk VA area. These cars are very rough and priced to sell. Send me an email for contact info and pictures.
I have a 1972 Mustang Coupe w/351 CJ engine, Holly 780 carb, C6 Trans w/2500 stall, and a 3.25 9" Rear End and has the Sports Package w/built in tach in the dash. The car is completely original except in 1980 I restored the engine, body and interior. At that time I wasn't aware of what this car was and changed it's color and interior. I am intending to restore it to its original condition but would like to know what the production number was of this car. I have a book that says they only producted 150 of these and want to just varify it. I registered this car over 15 years ago with the Califorina Registry and still have it on file there.
i would like to hear from any aussie and kiwi owners of 72 sprints.
i know of one sprint coupe in nz and have heard rumors of a sprint on the east coast of australia.
mine at this stage is the only confirmed one known in australia.
Where were the coupes and fastbacks? Out of 3,000 plus Mustangs and maybe forty 71-73 Mustangs I did not see one single sprint fastback or coupe. The good news is there were FOUR convertibles out of the fifty made. I drive mine and have the pictures to prove it. There must be a few decent non convertibles out there.
I had one of the original 1972 Fastbacks from the Daytona Speedway. Only four originals. Lost it in a divorce in Savannah, Georgia. Would love to have it back...Looked like a rocket.
351C, Power Steering, Manual Brakes, FMX Transmission, Factory Air (not currently working). 107,000 miles on frame, 35,000 on rebuilt engine. Practically rust free, with a few door dings & paint chips. Interior is practically done. The car runs great. E-mail if you are interested & I will send pictures. dorothy.shipman@emporia.ws

Did the owner ever get back to you on where he's from and how much he wants? I owned one of these back in '74-'75. Hit a dumptruck with 21 tons of gravel in it when I was 17 . Would love to re-capture those "old feelings". No, not the one of me plowing into 21 tons stopped in the middle of the interstate! Just kidding. Any help would truly be appreciated.
