I doubt that the time, effort, and money expended would produce the desired results. When you do the math you'll find that the car will have long visited the crusher or be rusting away in the weeds in a wrecking yard somewhere before you could ever hope to recoup the investment.
A 929's mileage figures aren't significantly different from similar cars, so if yours is excessively thirsty there's no doubt a problem with the car or the driver has a leadfoot.
