My 1994 Mazda 626 LX V6 (automatic) has 125,000 miles on it.

It just recently started sputtering (kind of sounding like a go kart or lawnmower) when I hit the gas pedal and try to accellerate. It does it off and on, usually around 2nd gear.
It is also very shaky and the car seems to vibrate.
It also is unstable (shaky and vibrating) in reverse.

Does anyone have any ideas?

We just had a big rain storm so I checked the spark plugs for water, found none, and even put DryGas type fluid in the gas tank to get rid of any possible water in the gas.
Neither of these seems to have worked that well.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you very much!
