i got a 93 protege dx. whenever i have my car in gear, and im accelerating, its fine, but when i let off the gas and its still in gear it starts making this loud chattering sound, but the clutch works fine. it doesnt slip, and it gets the car moving just fine but im irritated as hell with this noise its been making. it only does it when the car is in gear and the gas is let off and the car is moving. i figure its the clutch, because the noise stops when i push in the clutch pedal or throw the stick in neutral. anybody know what the hells wrong???

This doesn't sound like the typical clutch problem symptoms. I suggest that you take the car to a reputable shop for diagnosis.

I think it is release bearing in the clutch assy.

Noise when in deceleration in gear mode, noise stop when push the brake pedal. It is not release bearing (or T/O bearing) noise. If the release bearing is bad, it will most likely to make noise when you push the clutch pedal. I think you have gear noise. Also check rear differential and universal join.
