I have a 92 mx-3 4 cylinder. Its been dieing lately ... gas peddle just goes dead and engine light comes on.... I replaced the Fuel pump not to long ago and it seemed fine ..... any ideas ??? Sometimes I can get it to stay alive by pumping the gas ... maybe a clog in line etc ?? any ideas ? I am a starving student and I need to fix it on my own ....( I am not mechanically inclined btw )any info or ideas would be much appreciated

Is the check engine light coming on? If so have the codes read.

Sounds like the idle circuit is shot. Maybe all it takes is readjustment of the idle screw.

What happens in this car is that when the idle is too low, the fuel pump relay is deactivated and the fuel pump shuts down. Have the idle adjusted to proper spec. Also, check the fuel filter.
