My Mazda 626 94 Model keeps displaying the amber light "HOLD" while the car is running. Deactivating the HOLD button at the auto gear clutch does not stop this. I also notice that in this state, the car consumes more fuel. Anyone has a solution please.

Hey Guys,
I posted this question. For those with the same problem, the solution lies with the IGNITION. I changed my ignition and the whole shit is working properly now. Try it.

There were many stuff i had to change in the ignition. The cumulative cost was like purchasing another one of which i did. It was actually a used one i purchade at about $120. Earlier while this problem was on, the car had a problem starting once. All is okay now.

I dont see how the ignition is related to the tranny hold problem but we have all seen more surprising resolutions. On my 95 millenia the saga continues. Went to 3 more mechanics, a ford dealership,an Import car specialist and a transmission specialist and still nobody can retreive my codes. Mine only has the diagnostic connector under the hood without the "TAT" pin that can be jumped to get codes.I found on a website about the "TAT" pin being on the ecu plug so i dug behind the console, found the connector, spliced into it with a 4 foot peice of wire, shorted it to ground per website instructions and still NO codes...i get the flashing hold light as soon as i turn the key but no codes. I guess its off to the mazda dealership 30 miles away to get a final answer.car shifts great except no over drive and shifts occur at 5000 rpm, still in limp mode. If anybody has solutions before i go to the dealership next week, please let me know. thanks.
