First things to check are the themostat and radiator cap, both cheap replacements. If that doesn't fix your problem you'll need to run some test. If your not sure how to do that take it to a shop. I would think it should'nt cost over $100 US. Other possible causes of overheating, clogged radiator, failed water pump, blown head gasket, and cracked head. Good luck.
