Why don't you try to clean the EGR sensor before you go and spend big bucks? Incase you are interested here are the steps:

1)Take the EGR unit off, and spray some kind of carb cleaner into the 2 holes.

2)Scrape w/ a sharp metal object to remove all the carbon while carb cleaner liquid is still in the 2 holes.

3)Let out the carb cleaner and repeat steps 1-3 as needed. Make sure the black component on the top (which houses the electrical stuff) does not come into contact w/ the carb cleaner.

4)Wipe off excessive carb cleaner liquid and let dry for a few hours.

5)Install the EGR unit and check all vacuume hoses. You should be good to go.

Also, if you do decide to get a new EGR unit, make sure it will fit your car. I have a 96 Milly and there are 2 types of EGR units that come w/ the 2.5 engine. One has a single vacuume hose and the other has a single vacuume hose and 2 other hoses on the side. Goodluck.

I had the same problem with my car stalling and it almost drove me crazy. Saw a post about the boost sensor. I unplugged mine and the car has been running perfect ever since. Didn't know you could clean it so I may try to do it sometime.

As far as cleaning goes...you can only do this if the electrical part of the EGR sensor is good. It's worth trying your luck though. Just out of curiosity, how did you disconnect the EGR? Did you just remove the vacuume and the electrical input?

Where's the EGR unit? Is the Boost sensor the same thing?
