Can anyone tell me why my temperature guage keeps going from normal to hot when I am stopped at a traffic light but when I accelerate the temp. guage goes back to normal. Technician can't seem to find the problem.

alright,lets go over this. the whole purpose of the radiator is to cool the water. in order for it to do its job it must have air passing through the radiator when you stop the air stops, its pretty simple. i dont know what model of car it is but im sure it has an electric cooling fan, if the fan doesnt work you will have the same problem that you have now. check the fan thats right in front or behind the radiator if it doesnt work thats your problem
