Hey, my 86 B2000 has lost alot of power recently at certain speeds, usually at slower speeds I have very little power and when I stay in a lower gear and drive at higher speeds to get the RPM's up the truck has more power. I recently replaced the plugs and cap, rotor, wires, distributor mechanism, coil, and the starter. They were all very worn and brittle to the touch. I also removed the Catylitic converter positioned under the drivers seat, I think there is another one located right after the exhaust manifold by the engine, it might be a resonator I was told. Would I be able to remove this and just have a striaght exhaust system and increase my power, when I removed the cat it was almost completly clogged, my friend told me that it caused the problems with my starter and other engine elctrical problems from heat saturation. Any help would be much appreciated
