FRONT ROTORS

I WANT TO CHANGE MY FRONT ROTORS ON MY 1997 2 WHEEL DRIVE MPV, CAN SOMEONE TELL HOW TO GET THE ROTOR OFF? PLEASE!!

You hit it with a hammer if it is stuck..... really hard. You need to take off the brake calipers first. Thats what holds in the rotors. Than get a hammer and hit the center hub. Not the breaking surface as a dent will be bad if you wanted to put the same rotors back. But if u are going to throw it away than hit away. It will give u more leverage if u hit the out side of the rotors....

Thats it. No secret just brute force that baby will it comes off.

When you install your new rotors put a bit of anti seize between the backing of the rotor surface and the hub so it wont rust togeather next time.

Hitting rotors with a hammer is not a good idea. It much better to use WD40 to spay between the rotor and the hub. Tapping it, not hitting hard with a hammer may help. Some vehicle rotors (not sure about this one) have threaded holses in rotors so you can thread appropriate size bolts in there and thus force the rotor off. This is the right way to do it!

There are also special tools that can be rented called rotor/drum puller made for the specfic purpose of removing these.
