Hello all, I have an Automatic 1993 Mazda 323 1.6L Hatchback with 119,000 miles. I recently replaced the water pump and all the belts. I replaced the water pump because the main seal on the pump was leaking. Now thats all back together it doesn't leak from the pump, but now from the radiator. The hoses appear to be in good shape and they don't leak but the radiator does. It is getting to about -30 at night here in Bellevue, Nebraska and I don't think this is helping my engine stay cool. I know the engine is circulating water and the pump is working properly but the radiator is leaking from an unknown location. The radiator is 2 1/2 years old and it is an aftermarket aluminum radiator. The front of the radiator is clear of debris and ice and the cooling fan is working. The bottom of the radiator is covered in ice but it is only covering the bottom, not the cooling fins and grid. Even after the ice was removed it still overheated. I have to fill the radiator up with water and coolant before every trip I make and then I have to carry a few gallons of extra coolant in the trunk in case it acts up, which it does every day. Only after the cold weather started did the car overheat. The car sat for 1 year before all the parts above were installed. Can I get a good estimate for a new or used radiator for my car? Could it be the thermostat? or radiator cap causing my problems?

If you had a coolant mixture appropriate for the temperatures you're experiencing, it would be easy to spot a leak. Remedy this and post back with your observations.

hi mister! your problem come from the thermostat. if it not this, maybe that your head gasket .the coolant pass between the head and the block .
