I have a 1987 Mazda B2000 pick-up and want to know if any other engines will fit in. I have bad cylinder head and am thinking about just replacing the whole engine with a used or rebuilt maybe ford engine will fit.

I have read that the Protege engine will bolt up to the B2000 bell housing

I just had a motor replaced in my 1989 Mazda b2200 pick up, and was told I could either go with the 2200 or the 2000, and they were identical. I tried myself to have the 2600 put in, but Mazda told me it would not fit.

i do believe the mazda b2000/b2200, has the same block as a 88-93 ford probe/mazda mx6/626. just find one with a turbo then you have a 12value turbo
