John: I have a 1994 Mazda 929...bought new. I have had several problems with the remote keyless lock. I have taken it to the dealer and had it reprogramed. The mechanic does it in 10 minutes. You're a popular guy right now, huh? I have a '93 929 that's burning oil. Is there an oil weight recommendation anywhere in those repair books for such a situation? I have no owner's manual, and I don't know what the manufacturer's recommended oil weight is at all. Do you have that info, too? I think it's 5w30, but I don't know.

After my 929 engine worms up, the engine seems to miss while driving between 40-50 MPH. I,m not sure if it is a fuel, ignition or computer problem. Any help you can give would be great. Mazda dealers in Germany have no manuals on US spec cars.

appreciate you openness, I just purchased a '95 929
and it appears to have some clear oil on the front
cross member. it also has an smell of oil when openning
the outside air position. I believe the a/t cooler line
has a leak(if this is the auto/transmission cooler line).

I've just had the vehicle inspected and this appears
to be the only leak visible. If you've any info and/or
ideas, it would prove very helpful.

You dont have to. There are holes in the front of the unit to access a special tool. They have rubber grommets on them usually to hide the holes.

Thanks for your offer to help. I just bought a used 1995 mazda 929 with factory installed keyless remote. I put a new battery in the remote about 2 weeks ago. It worked fairly well during that time and then became intermittent. i think i will need to buy a new remote. They are pretty expensive especially since the dealer has to program. I was wondering if you have any ideas if the remote can be purchased at a non dealer? in addition are there instructions on programming the remote? i may have to buy the remote from a dealer, I believe it is about $65. If I can save on the programming that would be great.

Miguel, It would have been better if you made a new thread so your problem could not get lost. A common misscumception is that if the computer calls out a sensor out of tolerance that it must be at falt. This is simply not always the case. Your O2 sensor could be sensing correctly and you could be running in a rich or lean condition. This could be caused by several things. Here are some secondary ignition system ie spark plugs, plug wires, if your car has a distributer could be cap and rotor if not then a coil pack. Fuel system: Fuel injector fowled not allowing an atomized sray into the cylinder, leaking fuel injector. Intake air system MAF sensor, PCV Valve, air filter clooged and there are more. What you need to know first is it a lean or rich condition. The possibilty does exsist that you got a bad O2 sensor but before you spend more money on parts I would attempt to get more information.

1990 929s. what was the difference between the regular 929 and the S? and i have a light problem. high lights wont work and the right turn signal wont blink. it clicks and the are new bulbs but no power to the bulbs. left side works fine. high lights same thing. pleas help with some kind of diagram for the problem;}

My son has a 92 Mazda 929. Steam vapors were coming out of the exhaust and my mechanic said it was either a cracked head or a head gasket. He quoted us $2,000. My son is getting married and didn't have that kind of extra money. I thought I would try and help him to locate the problem. I thought that a head gasket would be something I could handle since I have worked on cars over the years. Well, I took off the timing belt before I realized that I was in over my head. I decided to put it all back together and try and find another repair shop that might not charge that high amount. Well, my problem is that I can't put the timing belt back on. I slid it off the OHC pulleys and can't slip it back on. I can't figure out how one of the three idle pulleys work to put slack in the belt to slip the belt back into place.

Your offer to copy a few pages to help is greatly appreciated. I need the instructions on putting the timing belt back on. Everything else I can figure it be working backwards.

John, if this offer still stands, my car began idling rough & almost stalling when I quickly shift from fast acceleration to quick deceleration & check engine light would come on. Apparently the EGR valve is not closing properly & the Dealer says it must be replaced for $700 (with diagnosis, solenoid kit & labour). Of course "clean the part" isn't in their vocabulary. I would like to clean the EGR valve but don't know where it is. I can see the solenoids as they have temporarily disabled it with a couple of plugged hoses & the car is runng great.
Could you send me the info on where it is & how to R & R?

I have tried all data and it kinda give a general procedure for a 3.0L engine that resembles the 929 engine. When I align the belt to ALLDATA procedure the engine doesnt build compression and it wont start.

I have had the heads done (valve job, pressure test, milling) and new MAZDA gaskets everywhere.

I COULD REALLY USE HELP ON WHY THE BLOWER WANT COME ON. COULD IT BE FUSE OR RELAY . THE CONTROL PANEL USE TO WORK ON HIGH ONLY AND NOT AUTOMATIC.NEED HELP

My Fan quite working and after actuating the switch a few times it started again, but its seem to be working at a lower pumping capacity. I am not sure whether it is the motor, a resistor or the switch.

Any diagnostic help, and pictures of the manual section as how to perform it will be greately appreciated.

need instructions on replacing valve cover gaskets driver and passengerthanks

I need info for my 95 Mellenia 2.5L V6. The mechanic tells me it has the following codes stored in the computer, P0325 & P1402. These are knock sensor and EGR valve codes. Can you send me info/specs for these sensors? What are the ohms readings and voltage output for the knock sensor. Also instructions on how to change the timing belt would be helpful, it has 118,000 miles and the belt has never been changed.

I recently purchased a 1988 Mazda 929. I am having problems getting the blower to work. Everything seems to work on Auto but I can not fiqure out how to "Over ride" this function. I have a complete owners manual that came with the car but I can not find anything about thsi problem. It tells you the prefered settings but what if you want to crank up the heater or A/C.

My 1995 Mazda 929 has several issues. First I need to replace the rear passenger side window motor/regulator. While I can find the replacement rather easily, I would not know how to remove and replace. I lost my keyless entry remote. Contacted the dealer to find out the specific FCC/DOC #'s to no avail. They are happy to offer to SELL me one and program it ($161.82 + tax and programming), but will not give me the numbers so that I may attempt to purchase elsewhere. AND, my sunroof functions if I reach up and bring down a stainless clip to engage with the "Catch". Feel something has broken....probably an easy fix, but wouldn't know where to begin. I plan to replace the aftermarket Stereo with original OEM equipment; stereo/cassette/cd player and CD changer. The person who installed my aftermarket must have been dropping acid while performing this task; It is quite literally a terrible mess which has NEVER worked correctly, and now that I see how they "did it" I am not one bit surprised. Just don't know how I might do this myself. I'm not sure what your repair books might cover out of what info I need, but I would be so grateful for whatever you could help me with.

I have a 92' 929 I let sit for 1 year and now it won't start. I need info regarding the fuel system. pump and filter location. fuel injection and trottle body. I guess need to start by testing at the fuel filter and either go backwards of forward from there.

After sitting up for a year, whatever gas there is in the tank is probably bad. there's also a possibility that you have moisture in the tank due to condensation. This could be the reason it's not starting.

Can I assume that you tested and have spark?

If you're sure it's a fuel problem, start at the engine and work your way back.

There are many online sources where you can find troubleshooting information. Check 'em out, or buy Haynes or Chiltons for the car and follow the troubleshooting procedures.

Recently I ran the car through the water "canal" the car start and run after that but I finish to tuneup the car and he won't start the fan turn but I think the gas is not flowing to the chamber and the car fail to start.If you have any ideas please I would like to hear from you

My CEL reads an error 5, knock sensor. I have replaced the left side sensor, under the exhaust manifold and the computer and am still getting the same error. The Mazda dealer says that is the only knock sensor on a 94, but I have read of another under the intake manifold. Any help finding the other would be appriciated.

On my 92 model 929, the "Hold" light came on and now the transmissiion won't engage. Prior to this the car seems to miss whenever the outside temp. rises above 80 degrees. Also the knock sensor on the drivers side has to be replaced. Where is the fuel filter and the egr valve? Although I have many things going wrong, I am the second owner( 67,000 when purchased) and the car now has 217,000 miles.

My daughter was cruising down the interstate doing 70mph and the engine died. There is no power to the spark plugs or to the fuel pump. Is there a shut off incase the oil gets low or the engine gets too hot? Please help with any infor. Also I just bought a 96 Millinia and the engine light is on with both oxygen senson fails. They have both been replace but still show failure and engine in not running smoothly. Thanks for your help.

Could you please send me information on where the relay switch is that makes the car start i am having problems the battery is good the alternator is good the starter is new but when i get in to start the car it sometimes does nothing and sometimes it clicks and sometimes it will try to start but when it does it sounds like the starter is dragging please send any information on where the relay is. or what maybe causeing the problem via email. I read your message about the repair books and how you would scan a couple of pages and email them. I was wonderding if you could scan the heating/ac system pages. I just recently had my timing and water pump changed but I don't think he reconnected a fuse or relay going to the blowers. Before i had the work done it was working just fine. If you could email me the pages as it relates to the fan that would be great.

I have a 1993 Mazda 929 automatic. The transmission drags when going from 1st to 2nd gear if it is cold. If it has a hard shift I lose REVERSE it will take another hard shift to regain reverse or has to sit for and 8 hours. What would cause this? I have to replace the radiator, but while i am planning on doing this i wanted to replace the water pump as i was going to upgrade to a Koyo radiator and wanted to make sure that everything is up to new specs. that is issue number one so if you can give me any and all info. for troubleshooting my heating issues along with the diagrams for water pump replacement it would be GREATLY appreciated. now number two is the Driver side rear window motor works, but no window action. once again any diagrams or suggestions would be appreciated. one more thing, the car seems to "smoke" through the exhaust but it is more like a warm up exhaust that rarely goes away. not blue, no water in the oil. any ideas? does it have to do with the heating issues? i look foward to your response.
