I've noticed a lot of posts on here seem to point towards the fact that people get some enjoyment out of freeballing, while other people do it mostly for the comfort aspect.

I started freeballing when I was in training for the army at Fort Benning, Georgia. We would be in and out of wet environments so often that by the end of the first week, just about everyone had given up on wearing underwear. Pretty much for the same reasons, I didn't wear underwear for the rest of my time with the army. After freeballing for that long, going back to underwear seemed pointless. For me, it has always been purely a comfort thing-- it was just what made sense, everybody did it-- I never did it for the pleasure.

As a matter of fact, wearing underwear has become a very uncomfortable experience. I became a police officer a year or so after leaving the army, and during the academy when we were issued our uniforms I was embarassed to find out that I was the only cadet out of sixty who didn't wear underwear. Although I never intended to wear them after graduating, to make things simpler, I bought a pair of undies to wear for the rest of training. The hour I spent wearing those boxer briefs was such agony that I gave up on trying to conform and haven't worn underwear since.

So, apart from my one hour test, I haven't worn underwear in 15 years solely because of comfort, and because it's been so long, I don't get amy thrill out of freeballing in a particular type of pant. I just do it-- in a suit and in my uniform, at the gym and at the doctors office, when I'm shopping and when I'm lounging around, no matter what, I'm going commando.

How about you guys? Do you do it for comfort, pleasure, or both?

For me freeballing began as a convenience at summer camp, 1958, age 12. I found it felt- well- "sexy"- so I continued it as- "enjoyment". Now it's a matter of comfort and just a normal thing.

My story is similar to Nat's in that I started around 12 because it felt sexy and now I do it because it's comfortable and normal. But I also still think it's sexy.

For me the no.1 reason is comfort.

I like the feeling of nakedness inside my trousers/shorts, so pleasure is my 2nd reason.

And a 3rd reason i enjoy fbing is that it gives me a great sense of freedom.

I got started out of curiosity. Now, I can truly say it is for both. I like the feel of my penis and balls against the fabric. Also, it is WAY MORE comfortable. I can't stand the feel of any underwear binding, bunching, or generally holding my balls and all hostage. WITHOUT is truly the best feel and best enjoyment ever!!!

I can't remember what it was like to wear underwear! I freeball for comfort and simplicity, nothing more.

I initially started full-time at age 11. That's when my parents first gave me control of my clothing purchases and a budget. To make a long story short, my very first acquisition was a pair of Levi 501s, which I decided I'd wear w/o UW, both for comfort and economy. Levi 501s w/o UW were my 'uniform' for most of the next 2 decades except for shorts in Canada's often brief summers. I have several pair of UW, but the only time I wear them is to UW parties at clubs, etc. Sometimes it's the transparent ones or my bright red jock strap.

When I think about it, I had always worn shorts of one kind or the other in summers since infancy. I don't ever recall wearing UW with them. Nor did I think much about showing genitals. I recall my mother talked to me when I was ~12 years about 'showing.' She prefaced it by 'should you care, you are!' Nothing else was ever said at home. What I wore, if anything, was considered my decision and prerogative.

Wished I had started at 11... But, better late than never!!!

Your right, once you've gotten used to going without underwear, wearing them again is a nightmare. I tried wearing underpants a few times back in my early freeballing days. I figured, what with all the styles that were available there might be something I might actually like. I tried expensive boxer briefs, silk boxers, and bikini briefs, and could never keep the damn things on for more than a couple of hours. They all got thrown away. On one occasion, when running errands around town, I actually went to the mens room and tossed a pair in the trash!

Other than my little experimentation phase, its been years since I've owned any. Commando style is more comfortable to me.

For a long time I would only freeball around the house, because I was afraid that others would notice.
It wasn't until I read all of the threads in this forum that I realized that other people can not tell if you are wearing underwear or not. So, for the last year I have gone almost full time. I have particularly found it much cooler without underwear when the temperature is over 110 degrees F (43c).
