Hello, I am new to the group. I wanted to post this msg. and find out what you guys think.

I am a nurse and have to wear scrubs to work. I wear boxers under my scrubs as the policy states we have to wear underwear.

The other night (I work evenings) I decided to take my underwear off. I have about 4" soft and it swings around in my pants. That night after I removed my boxer shorts, I noticed a few girls looking at my meat hanging.

I wanted to find out if you think it is unprofessional for a nurse to free ball?

Also, I would like to hear from other nurses who free ball.

Mike

anything wrong with it? Not in my opinion. If I were in the hospital and you walked in my room to give me meds, etc. I'd perk right up; its great therapy!

Policy that you have to wear underwear?? How do they imforce this policy? Nobody should make you wear or not wear anything. My wife as you may know from my other posts disliked me not wearing underwear. So I made a deal with her, If she could tell me If I was or was not wearing underwear on any given day then I would wear underwear most of the time. Needless to say she could not tell.

Cousin freeballs

I have a cousin that is in the trauma surgery unit of a hospital and he said he freeballs ALL the time in scrubs. When working with the accident victims, he might get blood on the scrubs and would also seep thru to his UW, so doesn't wear any to save on getting the blood on his clothes. He also said he freeballs most of the time while off work.

There have been numerous hospital workers posting in the past about freeballing in their scrubs.
When NW54 gets the search function working again- search "scrubs" to find them.

hey mike I am from Maine and an FF/EMT. I am in and out of a lot of hospitals and I would have to say I like the idea of guys freeballing in scrubs. I would give us something to look at and enjoy in a long shift.

Hey Michael,
Good for you; and believe me, if I was there, I would sure look...love to see meat swinging.
wish I had enough to swing. I have always freeballed for about 20 years. Can't stand underwear.
Just have this to say...Michael, let it swing and swing proud for other freeballing brothers..

Doc says keep swingin' Mikey

hey Mikey, I am a doc in tx and I am a 24/7 freeballer. There are many freeballers that are doctors, nurses, and OR techs here in Tx and I lived in Cali and many there as well. I personally don't think it is an issue unless it is a problem with performance or patient care. I am about 5" soft so I know the issue of swinging back and forth and so on. I wore a size larger to make it less noticable at first. I noticed some looks at first, but after a while everyone is so focused on patients and paperwork they don't have time to give a second look now. I tried out wearing boxers one day underneath and the result was the same, I did not see a difference in the overall look or swinging. If there is ever anything said to you, then you can point out the fact that boxers are no different and that in the grand scheme, underwear do not add or take away from patient care. Try wearing the scrub shirt outside of the pants instead of tucked in, or wearing a size larger pant if it is such a concern to the admin. Keep in touch, and keep them free!

I have been a full time freeballer for years, including when wearing scrubs. There is a tendency to have some flopping around, but it is no different than when wearing boxer, which is what I wore before becoming a full timer.
