58 Merc Park Lane Super Marauder -- Part I Original System

I thought I would share my experience restoring and installing a Super Marauder system for a 58' Park Lane. Part I -- will show the original condition of the intake manifold, carburetors and fuel pump. I believe the carburetors are NOS, as the original plating and markings are still present & vibrant. I will show some more detailed images of the carbs in a later post. Stay tuned for Part II.

The fuel pump is complete with correct brass fittings, but at some point a previous owner painted the filter cover blue. If you look closely you can still see remnants of blue paint in the fluted sections.

Original carb spacers are still present. Note the "TOP" indication labeled in yellow. The brass fittings and brake booster valve are also present. These showed typical corrosion.

Top view of the crabs & intake. Notice the number "20" painted with black ink on the front carb.

Rear view of the intake. Temperature sensor was missing.

Front view of the intake. Thermostat and housing both missing. The coolant passages within the intake all looked very good. Virtually no corrosion was present.

Side view shows a good representation of the condition of this Super Marauder system. I was fortunate that this set-up was in overall excellent condition.
