I have inherited my fathers 57 t-bird and he was a hot rodder. The engine in the car is a 430 lincoln of which I am trying to get familiar with. I think that it came out of a 59 t-bird. I have the numbers that are cast into the block so that must help. I have just pulled the engine to replace the leaking rear main seal. Any help on parts location/ sellers? This is my first time on a forum and I sure like what I see.
does anybody have engine block info?

Could this possibly read EDJ 6015 B?
Is the tranny a 3/SDP or 3/S/OD?

yes it is ED 6015 B , but there is no "J" (that's hard to see!!)
the tranny is a 3 speed with a manual pull type overdrive.

No J...My Mistake. ?2749
EDG was the 383 and EDJ was the 430. ED is for both as both used the same block (58/60). The cast date code is directly below it.
You know, a couple of pictures would be nice...
