Intake manifold adaptors
FYI
I talked to Slovers Porting in Sun Valley california the other day in regards to 430 cast aluminum valve covers, (see the other thread) and Michael informed me he also makes adaptors so that an 460 FE engine manifold can be used on the 430..This is a duplicate of the information posted on the valve covers thread in this section, but important separate info.
$350 bucks a set.
Here is the address

Re: Intake manifold adaptors
A 460 is not an FE engine. It's a 385 series engine.Chris Craft crazy wrote:FYI

I can't believe it, my factory is about 10 minutes from that place. I'll have to visit it after I get back from Texas. Got some speed events I'm participating in.

I have a set. Casually looking at swap meets for a 460 victor, motorsport or dual quad intake.
As soon as I find one, I' ll get a picture out. TJR

Re: Intake manifold adaptors
I talked to SLovers today regarding the intake manifold adapters. They said they are having problems with distributor clearance. The only dist they knew that cleared was a boat unit ( ? ). He said they are going to revisit this and try to modify it. His quote was he didn't want to sell something that had to be modified when bought brand new. They guys are so great. He is so honest. I wish more companys were like these guys. I have sent back so much crap over the years.
I love their valve covers I got from them.
Slovers rocks !!!!!!!!!
Keep us posted, vanscooter

Re: Intake manifold adaptors
I would like to know how water/coolant flow was modified. A 460 intake has no rear coolant passover. Coolant flow is completely different.

Re: Intake manifold adaptors
On my small block race motors I drilled and tapped for nipples and hose to make a cross over. Very simple.

Re: Intake manifold adaptors
Has there been any update on these adapters? Any photos?
The MEL and 460 have the same runner to runner spread so they should be viable. How did SLOVER handle the transition between the 460 round ports and the MEL square ports? Was there any specific instruction(s) for modifying internal coolant flow?
Check out the adapter plates shown below and how they allow for runner transition-

Go To Intake Adapters and Distributor kit-
What's with no BB IMAGE CODE? Place is still aggravating...
Anyone with info please E-MAIL ME... KULTULZ@msn.com
