Re: valve covers
There is currently an auction on E.Bay for a 430 powered 1960 Thunderbird , (try search "110485441436") This Thunderbird has polished finned Aluminum Valve covers. Anyone knows what make these covers are ?
I'm also one of those looking for a set, and those shown in the auction pictures would be perfect for my setup.

Re: valve covers
Those may be the Big Block Chevy valve covers. There are adapters out to fit the BBC covers to your MEL. Those look pretty wide to be MEL covers so the adapter takes care of all that. That's more than likely what they are.MrBurnedRubber wrote:There is currently an auction on E.Bay for a 430 powered 1960 Thunderbird , (try search "110485441436") This Thunderbird has polished finned Aluminum Valve covers. Re: valve covers
I'm not convinced that this is BBC covers , as BBC has 4 screws at the bottom row, and the top outer screws are almost 2 inches from the upper corners. These covers seems to have the boltholes in proper position right ?
These looks so nice, just what I'm trying to find.

Re: valve covers
It looked like some weird flanges in the corner you can see but not sure. I have not had the chance to compare the BBC to them yet. If they are MEL covers..they were custom made! Moon had some but they were more old school looking. There are photos floating around on the internet. I know someone on the HAMB made custom valve covers from scratch but not for the MEL. Let us know if anyone figures it out..they are nice!MrBurnedRubber wrote:I'm not convinced that this is BBC covers , as BBC has 4 screws at the bottom row, and the top outer screws are almost 2 inches from the upper corners. Re: valve covers
The Valve covers in question is for sure the Moon valve covers. A survivor from the 1960's. Same covers as seen on the second posting in this topic, on the Maruder picture. The difference is that the maruder covers have painted the ribs red.
Chek back soon, there are some good news coming for those hunting for finned valvecovers. I will get back with more info on this in a few days.

Re: valve covers
I forgot to mention that the 462 valve cover pictured above is the O.E. Style. they also have the racing valve cover that is raised and wider to fit their roller rockers they sell.
