camshaft interchange alert -early & late

The early 383-410-430 cams were equipped with camshaft bearings all the same size.(2.265") The later 430 and all 462 engines had larger bearing journals , will not interchange.
I, of course, found out the hard way....

I beg to differ here I,ve sold many roller Lincoln cams and used them in my motor the O D of the early and late cambearings is the same I know from actually having both sets in my 58 430.the early brgs have all the same ID the late brgs are staggered the rear cam brg is the same for both so match brgs to the cam you have. NOTE early cams need early timing gear - have smaller id - late cams need late gear larger id don't mix these up
