Ok,
The Turbo Drive FMX in my '60 is not healthy. So I'm thinking that replacing it with a C6 might be a good idea. Bear in mind this car gets used a LOT and sees use in lots of stop and go traffic here in the NYC area. I'm also worrie about finding someone in the North Jersey area who can even rebuild the FMX while a rebuilt C6 is easy to find.
So I've been digging around the archives...... I know that an FE C6 will bolt right up to my early 430 in my 1960.
Has anyone ever done this swap? I know that I'll need an FE flywheel and starter, and I assume those should bolt right up however what about mounts? KULTULZ did mention that the right C6 will be the same length and won't require driveshaft work, just wondering which one that might be.
And will I be able to retain the stock linkage? I dont want to lose the cruise control.
Thanks in advance,
Bill

Well...
I found a low mile tranny from a 59 that I am going through.... Assuming bands and clutches look ok it's going in the car tis week. Only has 30k on it but it's been sitting since 1969....

Bill, glad you found one. It took two tries to get my '59 Lincoln tranny working correctly. But now she just works great.
All the best...
