1960 2 barrel intake wanted

Hi,

I'm looking for an original 1960 2 barrel to fit back on my Lincoln. It now has a 4 barrel, and is not correct for the 1960 model year.

Does anyone have a correct intake and willing to sell?

No.Do not have one at all.

Availability of Lincoln MEL parts is almost none.

Not many of them were made.

Seems like best thing to do is just leave it be.

If that intake is aftermarket aluminum it is a very rare part.

If it factory cast iron it is still in demand.

Comb through these classifieds. I had several I posted here for a few years. I scrapped them in May but there should still be a few around.

thanks for your reply. Do you mean I can find them on this forum right now, or maybe somewhere in de future on eBay or so? I just bought the original 2 barrel carb, so only the manifold is missing now to get my car 100% original.

I have been able to dig up old post and buy various pieces. I double checked and my 60 intake is gone. As far as I know there are three years of a MEL 2 barrel carb. 1960 - 1962. The 1960 is the only tall 2 barrel intake. 61-68 2 and 4 barrel intakes are squatted with dipped runners.

fhogeweg, Have you found a 1960 2 barrel intake? I'm sorry for replying to a 3 month old post. I tried sending a PM but it just sits in my outbox. Anyway, I have one.

If you are still looking, I have a 2 barrel intake off a 59 or 60 383. Also have low mileage 383 pistons.

Are those intakes the same for 383 and 430??

The 383 and 430 4V intakes were the same for 1958. I see no reason a 383 intake could not be used on a '60 Lincoln engine other than the part numbers and date codes may not match what you are looking for.

Big Engines are quick but it's hard to beat the fun that comes from running a normally aspirated Y-Block at 8.80's and 147 mph in the quarter.
