I have a Weiand 6-71 intake also.
Mine covers the distributor completely so I'm going to make a cam drive unit.
Is yours similar?
Too bad with Nutter, I had my pistons made at CP with the mock up.

I bought my pistons from another member here, after he wanted slightly more compression. This piston is 9.625 to 1, but the work order and forging number may help Wiseco. These are the wiseco work order numbers

What year 430 were your pistons made for? From what I have been reading, the earlier model 430's used a flat head without a combustion chamber. So the pistons in the later model 430 were designed different to accomodate for the small combustion chamber in the head.

My engine is a 1959 block and head, with the big intake ports on the heads. I had to use an earlier one to accomodate the FoMoCo tripower..... no combustion chamber. You can do the calculations on compression if you have 1. head chamber size 2. head gasket thickness 3. combustion chamber total volume. Combine those figures with step size on the piston, then the usual calculations....

My notes indicate 95cc on the '65 stock piston.
Just for fun:
When I installed the 383 piston on the 430 crank I checked volume at zero, +090" and + .140" (tdc) to the quench area.
Visualizing the quench being at zero deck for all the positions I filled only to the block deck. Came out at 75cc (11.25cr), 58cc (13.98cr) and 54cc (14.7cr). Gave me a good and easy indication before machining O how it would work.
Once I machined the quench to zero deck and added valve reliefs I ended up where I wanted with 75cc total.

Thanks guys! I spoke with Sue at Wiseco yesterday and she said in 5-6 weeks and I will have my 7:1 forged blower pistons. I sent her one of the original pistons a couple weeks ago so that she would know exactly what they should look like. Using the 95cc combustion chamber for 10:1 I had her take out 40 more cc for a total of 135cc and that lowered it to where I need to be. I am also using Eagle forged 3D H-Beam rods from a 460. They are the closest size rod to the 430. The crank pin on the 430 are 2.60" and the 460 are 2.50" so I turned the crank down to fit. Also the length of the 460 rods are only .005" longer but since I am having custom pistons made I had Wiseco move the pins up .005" on the piston as well as change the size of the pins to 1.040" like the rods.

Longer rods are adding to higher revs and more torque. Cool side effect.
