Bendix FM Radio Fabrication....Playing around with Reverse Engineering with various MEL items ...
Here is the Aluminum FM chassis in auto-cad. Its a three part piece and has two steel pedestals to mount it to the transmission hump.
The right and left Pedestals fresh off the break press.....
This picture shows the leading edge or the front
This unit is actually made from Aluminum. I only have pre-paint Black and white 20 gauge steel so I set up the Turret.and banged some out.
The next operation is to make the "step" on the front a back edge. This will allow the front and back end plates to interlock with the chassis. This is the wrong side ...just a practice piece...
Ok that looks better....I'll do a practice run making the bends .......
OK this is the final design on the flat......
...............with louvers punched.
Cad Dwg's
Finished housings Pre-paint steel......
Pedestals attached .....

Special Thanks goes out to my friend Walter Who supplied me with a sample FM Radio.
Thanks to Frank my in-house designer.
Also My Special friend Scott (sbakar) from California who supplied the sample pedestal.
