Super Marauder spacers ......
I need to machine new insulating spacers for a 3 x 2 setup. The old material looks like a brown Bakelite ..
Is there something that would be better? McMaster Carr has various grades of phennolic or garolite. G-9, CE, LE, XX, GPO3.
Any input would be appreciated.
Anthony.......

Can't tell about the other materials you listed but the phenolic material figured out to be an extremely well insulating material against heat. You can also paint it with engine enamel if desired.

Thanks Theo .............
I selected G-10 Fiberglass reinforced Industrial laminate ....it is a phenolic material
Also machining 3 aluminum plates
This stacked arrangement will be installed under each carburetor. .....gasket. aluminum plate, gasket, insulator and gasket....
That should keep the heat down.....The Garolite can withstand 325 F ........
On a very hot day (93) with the air on I attached a Fluke digital thermo-couple to the intake near the head. I have a reading of 175 degrees.......160 degree thermostat.
