Re: tri-power
Yeah around 5-10,000 I have not seen one go for near 10 though. Someone on ebay wants $5,000 just for the carbs in pieces! It has been for sale for a looong time needless to say. I'd opt for the Lincoln one with no scripts on it!

Re: tri-power
I have talked to Joe Bunetic at some length, and decided that a set of Holley 2300 carbs that are not listing number correct is good enough for me... with the necessary mods for marine use, a set from him with linkage is about 1500 US. Well worth it from what I understand. It's good to have a tri power that really works.
MEL Marine division... and if you thought MEL car parts were scarce....

That's the route I am taking. Did that price include the carbs or do you provide cores? Not bad at all considering it takes someone who knows what they are doing to do it right.

Re: tri-power
It sounds like I got a good deal. But by the time it fully restored and installed I will be close to double the inital ebay purchase price. Oh well - cool old school stuff isn't cheap.

Is there a difference between the 430 and 462 that would prohibit the the intake manifold exchange? Uncle Scooby over at the hamb has a 6x2 set up for a 430. He also has a rotating assembly with some Jahn's 12.5:1

Re: tri-power
YES! You must purchase 430 cylinder heads. I know you can pick them up at a good price somewhere out there. I bought some 1960 heads but what you really want is 1958 or 1959 heads. The intake ports are different sizes. The 462 ports are much shorter than the 430s. The intake will have the tall ports and so will the early 430 heads you need. Good luck!chucklz wrote:Is there a difference between the 430 and 462 that would prohibit the the intake manifold exchange? Uncle Scooby over at the hamb has a 6x2 set up for a 430. Gentlemen:
Note that the center carburetor in not an original unit .......the fitting is placed wrong....the center carb has a float adjustment screw at the top causing the front carb not to sit flush ........no provision for the linkage....so is is a deal???

Re: tri-power
Easy fix...change the bowls to Autolite 2100 like the originals!..or just change that center one only to match the other 2. Mine were 3 indiviual 2barrels but the bowls are now 2100s. Hope that helps but I am no carb guy so correct me if I am wrong!59lincolnrag wrote:Gentlemen:

And you must make a progressive linkage from scratch

Re: tri-power
New photos. It has been a long time coming but the rebuild is coming to a close. It still needs linkage, polished stainless steel lines and a fuel pressure gauge. Can wait to see if it fits. If not any takers?
