Pony carbs has abook that identifies those carbs. Don't have my copy here, maybe it's online now?

Re: C6 Transmission to MEL Engine Adaptors

Just toying around it looks like an FE trans will work on a '61 to '65 Mel if the engine block is trimmed to allow starter mount.

Centerline looks on but I haven't measured yet, more to come.

Re: DIY002B retrofitting a new dual master Cylinder.

I'm going to try a late model Crown Vic unit. There are a few good ones in a local yard and they look and mount similar to the one pictured.

Might be a low cost alternative. (adaption required)

Re: 410 piston

No one has a good used or NOS 410 standard bore piston?

Picked up a low milage engine that was "re-animated" poorly and cracked one. Should be a fun low dollar hollar if a slug turns up

Re: New MEL camshafts

I've had new grinds (technology) put on original cams with good success so far. Early Chryslers and Mels.

Reginds are a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind it doesn't matter.

Re: Supercharger setups

The fun thing with those manifolds is the distribtor is covered by the intake.

Have to run a dummy for oil pump function and a belt or cam driven unit for ignition.

Re: Multi Carb manifolds

That is cool.

I have the Weiand 6-71 intake for my Blown Mel project. Never knew it was a "Typhoon"

Notice it's price compared to more popular models

Re: M-E-L Generator 50 AMP Bosch

From what I know that Delco external ground system was a one year only in '60.

My '60 has one and I think an alternator and brackets from one of my 462's is going in.

Re: 65 continental skips 2nd gear

2nd band could be burned up, so it shifts to second but it won't carry torque then on to third.

Does it manually 3-2 downshift?

Re: MEL Engine Series Combustion Chamber & Piston Design

I've thought it curious that the 409 and MEL chambers have been described as having a fast flame front or fast burn. It makes cense yet on the dyno mine made it's 420hp peak with 43 degrees total. Due to the lack of shrouding that would indicate a slow burn. And I would think that same slow burn con...
