Re: Newb w/ '66 F100

Very interesting and hopefully you can get your other pictures posted. On a side note, I removed my exhaust manifolds, including the spacers on the passenger side to make room for a set of headers. Let me know if you're interested in the spacer setup for your project.

Re: 430 Merc runs 14.02 at 101.5, 420hp

I think the links on this post need to be updated or deleted. I get a page with a bunch of pictures of classic "Cougars" if you know what I mean. Definitely not safe for work...

Re: 58 430 parts for sale

I know this is a shot in the dark, but you wouldn't happen to have any of these parts still available for sale would you? Thanks in advance!

Re: Newb w/ '66 F100

I have the C2 castings as well but the passenger side has spacers between the manifold and head to clear the starter. Image

I can't imagine how it would work with the FE bellhousing otherwise.

Re: Newb w/ '66 F100

I have run both actually. I was using a 70's Motorcraft starter but found a good deal on a Powermaster unit and switched to that. Unfortunately, the Powermaster doesn't have any better clearance in this application than the OEM starter did. It just created it's own set of clearance issues and I'm st...

Re: Early Intake Manifold Score

C3VE 9425-D sounds like a 63-65 intake. I believe that's what was on my motor before I swapped it out for the earlier manifold.

Hi Dan,
I have this exact same problem, did you ever come up with a solution?

Re: Early Intake Manifold Score

The early style is about 3" long, the later style is roughly 2.25" so the difference is about 3/4". Width was the same however.

Re: Early Intake Manifold Score

eBay sometimes turns up a rare gem and recently I stumbled across a set of early intake manifold keepers. They were incorrectly listed as being for Edsel exhaust manifolds so I'm happy I found them at all! After cleanup and some paint I snapped a photo comparing them to the late keepers for referenc...

Re: Replacement oil pump advice?

This is actually very helpful and spurred me to read up on FE oil system improvements. I've been looking at Precision Oil Pumps too and while they're spendy compared to a stocker, they're probably cheap insurance in the long run and hopefully eliminate oil pressure variables because of pump toleranc...
