It's the same as 1959 Ford. You should have no problem finding one of those from any one of a number of vintage salvage yards.

Richard Carpenter and his "Bad Move"
Richard Carpenter and his BADMOVE 1100.jpg This is recording star Richard Carpenter (of the singing duet "Carpenters") and his 1958 Edsel Citation two-door hardtop in its correct factory colors of Chalk Pink and Frost White. I took this at the 1987 Knott's Berry Farm All-Ford Meet in Buena Park, Ca...

Re: Needed Lincoln seat belt 1957-60
Thanks, Theo. I'm happy with the current revision and copied it into my own at-home files as it now stands for future posting elsewhere. Group, if anybody wants to store the "final" first edition of "The History of FoMoCo Seat Belts 1955-1968 In A Nutshell, by JDGauss," this would be the one to save...

Re: Edsel History
Total sales were approximately 84,000, less than half of the projected break-even point. 59lincolnrag, I'm not sure where you got that number. While sales generally lag production in the auto industry, the actual three-year production total for Edsel was 110,847 in the U.S. with 7,440 more 1958 and...

Re: 1958 Mercury Monterey. GM proving ground photos.
Sorry, Shelby #18, I have to travel to get there myself. . . it's NIMBY. So, I imagine most people interested in the contents of the library would have to specifically target this place with considerable expense involved in order to benefit from its contents. Next time I'm there, I'll see if there a...

Have one NOS. But I need a trade for it.
Looking for a 1957-60 OEM seat belt buckle for Lincoln. That would work!

Re: Lincoln seat belt 1957-60
Already have. I hate bad information on line, so rather than correct everything in a subsequent message that everybody reading may or may not see, I edited the original post. That's one of the greatest features of this Bulletin Board Software (phpBB) . . . being able to fix the boo-boos well after-t...

Re: Lincoln seat belt 1957-60
Still like to remind everybody about the main reason for the thread, and that is I need one, just one, OEM seat belt buckle and tongue (or even just the buckle) from a 1957 through 1960 Lincoln. It looks just like the Mercury one pictured above, but has no design stamped or cast into the surface of ...

Re: PLEASE HELP!! (CAN'T IDENTIFY CARB PIECE)
Looks like maybe some kind of fuel screen that surrounds the float needle valve at the intake in the fuel bowl.
Just a wild guess.

Re: Confirm ID on Autolite 4100?
Engineering numbers prefixed with EDG are 1958 Mercury but might also have been applied to other FoMoCo applications with similar requirements. But I consulted by 1972 Motorcraft carburetor manual, and the only EDG 4-barrel carburetors I can find fit 1958 Mercury 383cid. On top of that, of the four ...
