Re: Lincoln 430 Manual Shift Bellhousing

Thanks Chris 'C-O-M Twin Range' Do you mean a big Lincoln version of Fordomatic and Cruisomatic? Those names were more a sales gimmick and don't help you figure out what it really is. Think the early ones had that 'twin range' and later ones had regular gear selection.Drive/Low only. They are Borg W...

Re: Lincoln 430 Manual Shift Bellhousing

Thanks Chris 'is able to mount to a Ford C6' Well.I have not seen it myself. It just has whatever automatic they came with. I might have got that C6 stuff from Wikipedia or the guy I got it from said it looked like a C6. 'If it is the 66-68 Lincoln C6 you have a 462' Pretty sure it is a 430.Be nice ...

Lincoln 430 Manual Shift Bellhousing

We are the proud new owners of a Ford 3 speed transmission!

Was told by guy we got it from it is a Borg Warner from the 50's.

Is there a bellhousing to mate this to our Lincoln 430?

Have C6 that came with the engine but checking in to using the manual transmission.

Thanks.

Re: Power steering issue

'I took apart the pump and steering gear to give it a reseal and cleaning. Before that it was working perfect except for the leaks.'

Hate to say it but that looks like the problem.

Find a good manual and do it again.

Do one at a time maybe you will get lucky and pick right one!

Good luck!

Re: Power steering issue

Never heard of all that going on before.

Better find a shop that rebuilds those things and send them on over.

Might be something is just put back together wrong.

Good luck with it!

Re: 1960 2 barrel intake wanted

'Does anyone have a correct intake and willing to sell?' No.Do not have one at all. Availability of Lincoln MEL parts is almost none. Not many of them were made. Seems like best thing to do is just leave it be. If that intake is aftermarket aluminum it is a very rare part. If it factory cast iron it...

Re: Lincoln 430 Factory Pistons

'If the parts I have will help I'll post' We were just kidding about that. The parts on pallets made it look like there are parts on pallets for as far as the eye can see. We think big out here in California.Talk big Live big.The only way to fly! Sounds like what we use to do with a '69 Roadrunner. ...

Re: Lincoln 430 Factory Pistons

Thank you Chris That will make more sense to us when we look at engine. Was told it is a C6 if that helps but that probably should wait for us to confirm it. Reassuring you have acres and acres of 430 parts.:) Now we will take it apart with confidence! I keep thinking of Pecos when I see that Waco. ...

Re: Lincoln 430 Factory Pistons

From what the previous owner has said it is probably a '58-62.We would prefer that it is. Then it will be true 'angle block' Ford V8.Like the Chevy 348 and 409. It might turn out to be a later one. It was a pullout that the former owner took home from a body shop where he saw it. Said it was too goo...

Re: Lincoln 430 Factory Pistons

Thank you Theo Bottom line is our pistons better be usable. Same story for the rest of the engine. Plan is to disassemble it.Check everything and put it back together and start it up. Think we have the clearances in a 50's Hot Rod magazine booklet article. They call it an 'angle block'.Includes an A...
