Re: roller rockers for the 430
I have thought about using shims, although I would have thought they would make shims in a kit just for this purpose. What several suppliers including Harland Sharp make is a set of billet stands, as well as end supports for the rocker shaft. I have emailed HS to see what the cost of a set of billet...

Re: roller rockers for the 430
So here is another question for the valve train geometry gurus. It appears that looking at this build of mine that the rocker shaft stands could benefit being .100 higher than stock, with the stock pushrod, and adjustable Harland Sharp roller rockers... 1.76 ratio. I know the FE fords have a long co...

Re: Chris Craft 430ies
Yes, life does get in the way of these pretty projects. My machinist is double checking everything in terms of measurement since most of this happened three years ago. ... The block is going together, and we will check valve clearance. Since I have Shelby18's 9.6 pistons, it should...

Re: Chris Craft 430ies
Well folks, it's been a long absence. Life does hand you some curves, and with aging parents, job change for me, job downsize for my wife, etc etc.... projects got stalled. BUT we're back, and getting ready to assemble this beastie for once and for all. I have gathered a few extra hard to find gaske...

A really great thread all the way through. I learned a lot from the pictures, and I totally admire the attention to detail throughout the restoration. Thanks Richard, I hope I get to see the car in person some day.
Cheers
