Here are three different models of the venerable 283 Chris Craft installation. The first two versions are from a cruiser, one with straight exhaust and the other with risers. The last version is from my speedboat project of a few years ago.

These show all of the plumbing and accessory installations, and may be of use to some of our project guys.

Regards, Paul

Aft view of the 283 dual engine setup. Note the exhaust is pointing toward the starboard side.

Front view on starboard side, note this is a flywheel forward motor, and the predecessor of the 327F

That nutty 4-port water pump. I’ll do a feature on rebuilding one of these real soon.

really good looking fuel pump installation, note the secondary safety tube that runs spilled fuel back to the carb, keeping it out of the bilge. Early pumps didn’t have this, but all the replacement pumps do.

Not real sure just what this is, will have to study it a little more. It may be a Carter AFB but it's turned funny and I can't tell right now.

early motors have a generator but this one is fitted with an alternator. Note the remote oil filter.

Now here’s a pair from a cruiser, with risers and Paragon transmissions.

High performance intake installed on this one. Yes, that's a Carter AFB on this one.
