Hi Keith!

Bill has some information to share with you.

The Auto Industry and Aviation Industry used SAE 792 Bushing material which is 80% Copper, 10% Lead, and 10% Tin

This is for Maximum shock & Load carring capacity, hard shaft desirable for HEAVY loads with oscillating or rotating motion, more comonly used for piston pins.

The Auto Industry and Aviation Industry also used SAE 794 Bushing material (Bill prefers) which is 73.5% Copper, 23% Lead, & 3.5% Tin.

The higher Lead content gives improved surface action for higher speeds.

Used for INTERMIDIATE load application for both oscillating or rotating motion, more commonly used for Rocker Arm Bushings.

Bill hopes this information is helpful to you.

Roger

I will also forward this info to Larry at T&D.

Do you or Bill know for sure what the bushing material in the stock SOHC rockers was? Was it the SAE 794 material?

Jay,

Bill says he has narrowed it down between these two materials, and feels either should work well for the Cammer Rocker Bushing application.
