..........Police Interceptor. Will this shaft fit/work in a Galaxie? Has anyone done this in theirs? If so, what is needed to make this usable? Thanks, Rod. BTW, check Classifieds for 95 Crown Vic for sale.

FWIW I know a Mechanic @ Ford Quality Care and recall him saying

there was an excessive number of Vic/Marquis driveshafts that were always being replaced for Vibration. I don't know about the HP your pushing but it might be wise to check the OD of a Marauder shaft. I know my factory Lightning Alum shaft is mighty fat.
I know I've seen dozens of the Vic/Marquis's with Alum Shafts hit the car crusher

CrownVicky driveshaft

I run one in my Fairlane without any problems except a slight decrease in elapsed times and increase in speed. happy.gif

It may be too short for the Galaxie, mine is about 53 1/2" center to center of Ujoints but 92 to new Crown Vics had a couple different tranny combos.

Tom, did you change the yoke or u-joints because of size being different? Thanks.....n/m

I use the Ujoint the driveshaft came with in the rear, just take that 4 bolt flange off. I needed to adapt the front because of the 1350 series slip yoke. The factory U-joints seem to be the best, i'd rather have one with 80,000 miles on it than a new replacement.
