Hello
I got a 67 Fairlane GT with the 390 and I was wondering if anyone knows of a Positive valve stem seal that will fit on without machining.
thanks Luke

Need to know....

What the O.D. of the guide, Most, if not all FE guide O.D.s are machined but the dia. can vary from head to head and year to year. Pull a spring and measure the guide dia. and order from Goodson as they have their seals listed by size, both stem dia. and guide dia. and they are reasonably priced.

60 Starliner 460, 61 Starliner 427, 66 Galaxie 428, 67 Fairlane 427, 66 Fairlane 390, 69 F-250 390, 72 Lincoln 460 and 3 Ford powered Hotboats

Goodson for me too

I was having problems with my 428CJ flooding the heads with oil and sucking it past the umbrella seals. My heads were not machined for positive seals and I wasn't using double valve springs. I did just as RJP said and ordered the seals from Goodson's and that solved my oil comsumption and smoking problems.
