Changing pistons

I am changing pistons to increase the compression ratio. Going from 8.5 to 9.5 the engine only has about 2K miles on it. Can I reuse the rings if they go back in the same cylinders.

yes you can as long as the piston lands requires the same ring

Dean...I'm sticking my

nose in here, for what its worth...Have you looked at ALL the options for one point of compression...unless the motor has to come apart for some other reason, there is a whole bunch of wasted labor ( financialy un-recoverable)here, compared to a head swap ( recoverable $$$) or deck the heads..normally about 10 - 11 cc's for one comp. point..

There may be better options to raise compression. But if you do change pistons,I would not hesitate to re use the rings. Have done it before with no issues. RonW
